Decoration and Dried Flowers

 


Dried Flowers make marvelous and wonderful accessories for decoration. Both colorful and natural looking they can be hung in chimes or made into arrangements for center tables and side tables. Dried flowers also make beautiful ornaments for the festive season including chic looking dried flower wreaths and armlets.  No matter they are dried but these flowers are no less beautiful and appealing than their actual fresh counterparts. 

Dried flowers come in wide variety starting from roses to tulips and poppies to carnations and magnolia as well. Wide ranges of flower stems are also available for decorative purposes like bird of paradise, fruit stems, sunflower, etc. 

USING DRIED FLOWERS TO MAKE BOOK MARKS AND NAME TAGS

 

Dried flowers can be used not only to decorate a room or to use as potpourri but also to make book marks and name tags. It is possible to make other items such as note cards, placemats, pictures and greeting cards using the same method once we get the hang of sticking dried flowers onto cards and paper.

HOW TO USE DRIED FLOWERS IN THE HOUSE

 

It is never possible to have too many dried flowers in the house. Dried flowers can be used to spruce up any corner in the house or to even add a splash of colour in a corner that looks dingy and lacklustre. The places were dried flowers can be used are as follows.

 

1)     Door ways: Dried flowers can be used above door ways either just above the door or all along the around the door. If a more subtle or muted effect is preferred then it is possible to limit the dried flowers to a door wreath.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN POTPOURRI USING DRIED FLOWERS

Potpourri is the French name for a Spanish stew that was made out of a variety of ingredients. However, the English word refers to a collection of things. When referring to dried flowers, the word potpourri refers to a wide collection of dried flowers whose perfume is enhanced by using essential oils.

In order to make our own potpourri, we would need to make a collection of dried flowers, wood shavings and dried leaves. Before deciding on how to dry the flowers, wood and leaves, we would need to decide on what will be the ingredients for the potpourri of our choice.
